That ornamentation is spot on. I love the colors, too, and the way you've designed the dates. Nice work.
I agree about using something other than Museo Slab - it feels kind of chunky compared to the slimmer typeface you used in the nav and elsewhere. What about Archer? It's still strongly geometric, but it's thinner and has some decorative elements that might work in this design.
