This looks awesome. My personal preference would be to knock down the opacity of the grunge on the black shape just a little bit. Because it's a linear pattern (looks like denim?) it catches my eye more than I think you want it too—it makes me wonder if it's supposed to look like fabric or what it's made out of, instead of focusing on the mark as a whole.
As Josh said, the grunge level really depends on the client and their needs. That being said, if it's meant to be a moderate amount, I'd say the lettering could be cleaned up a bit.
We're gonna be making an American Apparel triblend shirt with an acid wash or discharge print of this design. Would anyone want a shirt or (as Jesse suggested) a sticker? I'll post details when they're available.

A first attempt. Tinkered with Gotham a bit to round out it's edges. It feels better than Gotham Rounded for this piece.
Thoughts? Too much grunge?

Looks really good dude. But then, I love grunge. Also, the type is great. It does look better than Gotham Rounded.

Depends on the client brief—what are they aiming for? Grunge it up (or not) in appropriateness to that.

Shot looks great in my opinion.
Grunge is nicely balanced here, too.
But yeah, like Joshua said, I guess it's up to the client to decide if it fits their profile.

Also, what are the future use cases for the logo? Monitor only, or print? The grunge effect may make certain print methods a challenge.
But I love it ;)

I'm digging the rounded out edges. I think I'd like to see the Americana a little cleaner though. As a whole I like where this is going though.

I quite like the 'leathery-ness' of the black, but if this isn't intended, maybe tone down the grunge a tad?
Quality though!

Really nice Chandler, I like it. Grunge should feel natural, so do what feels right.
