It's funny, in researching the Harvest album cover design I found out the artist was emulating a really old engraving (thanks typophile). The circle of type.
Very nice, man. And yes, design is like that, it's a spiral, it never ends. Just like music. No one can deny influences, not even the guy that did the cover of Harvest. Except of course, Simón del Desierto, who was raised by wolves and lived in a cave for 35 years. When some priests found him, he couldn't speak any tongue, but he had developed a grid system very similar to the International Typographic Style. He ended up losing a trial against Gerstner and moving back to the woods. E! true hollywood story. Thumbs up if you think i'm having to much coffee.
