As part of our rolling thunder of updates to the design of Google products, Calendar just launched some updates. http://mashable.com/2011/06/30/google-calendar-makeover/
A lot of people don't think of Search as a web application, like Calendar or Gmail, but it is. It's one of the earliest web apps - a deceptively simple GUI on top of an enormously powerful software and hardware stack.
Today, Calendar looks a little more like the version of Search we launched on Tuesday. What if Search looked a little more like Calendar?

Congratulations on the awesome work you're doing for Google. Can't wait to move to Mountain View myself :)
Awesome work. Nice, simple, better.
Love the new direction, for this and everything else that's been rolling out. Are you only involved in designing the products, or will this new approach reach something like YouTube for example?
Would love to see your influence on a re-focusing of YouTube.
The redesign happening across Google products this summer is the work of many talented designers and researchers – I am but one.
YouTube is a product that has a really strong voice and brand, but the design is constantly evolving and improving there, too.
Thanks for the feedback!
Hey Jon — Google on dribbble? What kind of crazy banana-town world is this?
