Monster Maker - Draco

I partnered with midjourney to create a monster-making machine. It all started when my son and I used midjourney to design cute monsters and creatures.

I found midjourney to be a valuable tool for generating ideas for UI and high-resolution illustrations. In this project I used it as a concept artist and a creative director.

The UI outputs from midjourney can be rough and nonsensical, which I affectionately refer to as "puke UI." It's like giving a child (a brilliant child) a design task. I used midjourney's output as inspiration for the monster maker and recreated something very much inspired by it (added more images in the comments)

In addition to midjourney, I also used:

  • Figma - UI, high-resolution design

  • Blender 3D - A few elements for the UI

  • After effects - Animation (Next step)

Overall, I had a great time with this project and I'm excited about the future of design tools. Not only did midjourney provide me with the resources I needed, but it also sparked new ideas and pushed me to take creative risks.

By the way, I also used chatgpt to come up with the names for the monsters.
