An online auction is a type of auction where the bidders are able to bid on the item they want over an internet connection.

The process of an online auction is very similar to a traditional auction. The only difference between the two is that instead of bidding in person, bidders submit their bids through an internet connection. The bids are submitted at the same time, and whoever submits the highest bid wins.

The first online auction was held by Sotheby’s in 1994 for a single wine bottle🍷.
