The hurricane itself as an icon might not be noticeable enough on the phone screen, but having an airplane be the main focal point might be a bit misleading to the brain.
Are you going to stick to pixel style?

I'm kind of digging the the one in the far right bottom corner. Just picturing that with the 'RAGE' type lines around the cloud could illustrate it well, and it would be humorous.

yea I agree with Mike...I think that would work. I wouldn't use a plane because it might look too much like that flight control game.
I do however like the tornado/vortex sketch on the left bottom of those bigger thumbnails

I was planning making the final icon look like the box art for an NES game. Figured that would be easier to scale to all of the different sizes Apple wants icons for.
I prefer the lower right one too, Mike. I think whatever the final will end up being it'll have those lines in it.
Yeah, that's a good point about showing a plane in the icon. I didn't noticed it before but most of these sketches look like they're for some sort of jet game.

I've been working on Turbulence's icons a bit more. Unfortunately I don't see how this design will reduce to all of the sizes required by iOS so it may be used only for the iTunes Artwork.
