Moon NFT app

About the app

Moon is a new NFT marketplace. It's an app concept for an upcoming startup created for dribbble courses. App was created with a design-first approach.

Goal

The objective of this course was to establish a visual language for a new concept app of NFT marketplace. Next visual language needed to be scaled on multiple screens, based on wireframes that were provided. One of the tasks was to create a UI library and basic design system.

The process

Research. Moodboard. Establish Visual language. Polish & scale design.

I decided to go with a modern and minimalistic approach to let the NFT art be highlighted by interface.

Our target audience are people who have taste in art and NFT. Also they feel good in the digital world. I’ve chosen concept 2 to work on, because it’s more suitable for our target audience. It has more of a digital, NFT art look and feel than concept 1.

I went on with a dark interface and modern typography that highlights the digital world.

I decided to use 3 colors and I have chosen orange as my accent color.

Orange used in design is very warm; it's almost red. I used this color to convey the mood of the app to users. Red is a color of passion, power and determinacy and orange is a color of creativity and determination. Combined together they created a warm orange that represents success and encourages users to interact with it.

Beyond colors I’ve decided to encourage users to interact with the app since the first splash screen. To do so I’ve used a slider button which gives a feeling of deeper interaction with the product and entering the world of digital art.e...

Takeaways

During courses I was challenged to get out of my comfort zone and approach visual design from a totally different perspective.

This allowed me to understand that visual design is a whole process that should be as important as all other steps of the design process.
