GamingBible Full Website - Navigation

It was my task a couple of years ago to design from scratch https://www.gamingbible.co.uk/ A fun project which has been live for a while now. One of the biggest UX challenges within this project was "to design a NEW style of navigation" of which I thoroughly enjoyed tackling. I have written a Medium post on how I went about designing this here. I aimed to imitate the menu style used on gaming consoles, whilst keeping it on the screen at all times yet never being intrusive of the content... Overall after many user tests I found that this area was in fact a blind spot to most users, however the gamer audience did in fact love this style of menu - once they found it (as a bit of a gimmick). Since then I have redesigned this menu to make it more functional and accessible across board. This project will always be one I remember as a huge learning curve in my career (whilst having a lot of fun doing so). Let me know what you think?
