   This is the theme we're using for presenting the different publications on the new FMC (www.fmc.co.uk) website:

   We take a large version of the front cover and blur it (20px to be precise) then we drop the resized cover into this unified object with the same lighting as the other publications.

   I was bringing realism to a real-life photo of a tangible product, that fairly poorly chosen lighting is justified!
