Chicago - My Kind of Town

I will always have a soft spot in my heart for Chicago, so 90% of the time, I'm drawn to illustrate something about the city in some way. The other day, I heard the Frank Sinatra song "Chicago" on television, and this little illustration flowed out of me. Chicago is definitely my kind of town.

Hand-lettered and hand-illustrated, I scanned in the final drawing then applied color in Photoshop. Color palette drawn from a 1960s Bossa Nova record album cover. Applied textures and some subtle gradients in Illustrator.
