Forcing a signature to be something that it naturally isn't feels awkward to me. Analogous to giving yourself a nickname I suppose. Does anyone else feel the same or am I the only weirdo? :)
For centuries (even long b.c.) it was common practice for the most skilled and talented hand-writers to improve their own signature time after time with the goose feathers. In this respect I don't think it's awkward or weird to stylize your signature in present times either.
@ Ben — I agree that it's wrong to force a signature into something it's not supposed to be. That said, I really feel that my own signature has undergone an interesting improvement over time. Every now and then, I've added and removed elements here and there, gradually shaping it into something that both feels natural for me to write and is appealing to the eye (and last but not least, SOUNDS good when written).

2 or 5. I like the comfortable flow to 2, but 5 is more legible to me and has nice balance also.
IMO for what that's worth.

I agree 2, its quick, round, and appealing to the eye.

@ Gert — Actually this is my current signature. What adjustments would you suggest?

A lot of you guys mention #2 as your favorite. I can't help but think that it has something to do with the line being continuous, am I right?

Yeah, reckon it would be quicker to do. Plus I find that one to be the sexiest of them all

#1 or #8 feel most fluid and energetic to me.
