Silvermine 11SR | developing the exterior design

A SPECIAL COLLABORATION - Sometimes you come across an intriguing story and you wonder: 'What if?' So that's why in 2013 I visited Frank van Rouendal, in a small town somewhere at the east border of The Netherlands.

A couple of years ago I stumbled upon an interesting project. A company called Silvermine was building their own race car somewhere in The Netherlands. The progress could be followed on their website and at a certain point this Silvermine 11P prototype chassis was test driving at high speeds on a closed-off airfield. But the car was still missing actual bodywork. So I decided to contact this company. And that's when I met Frank.

I teamed up with my brother Andries van Overbeeke, artist and designer, specialised in CAD. In the following months, we developed an exterior design for the production version of the new Silvermine 11SR track day race car. In 2014 the final exterior design was revealed and in 2015 production of the very first body is underway.
