Revised the buttons based on the input from my previous shot. Lowered the height of the 3 button element, moved them directly below the profile photo, and changed their natural state to a light tan. This helps allow them to fade back in the overal design and not clutter things up as much. On hover, they will change to a baby blue and a tooltip will tell the user what they're about to do. A larger view of this portion of the site is attached.
I know its pretty clear, but maybe some kind of divider between each profile, or even when you hover over a profile make it stand out with a brighter color on the background... if that makes sense
Tim, the last shot had this under "DresdenDoll," I just haven't added it to this revised version yet. I'll probably do a full white background on hover so that it is apparent, but not over the top.
Have you tried to remove the background of the icons? You could make a test with the icons isolated without a background. Maybe that will make the design a bit more clean....
Ricardo, yea, I tried that while talking to a friend during this revision. It looked good, but we felt like given the amount of content that the button aspect was lost. Good call though, was definitely a route I needed to try.

Input is still very much appreciated.
