Planned Parenthood "Bans Off Our Bodies" Artist Series

As an artist, I get to share important messages in impactful ways. Which is why it was so amazing to work with one of my dream clients, Planned Parenthood, on this piece forΒ @pppswhealth's "Bans Off Our Bodies" series recently. I'm so grateful I get to do the work I do, but the work is far from over, and we need to keep fighting for change and supporting each other ✊🏽

Abortion access is not just a women's issue. Our discussions around reproductive rights need to consider everyone who can get pregnant, including transgender folks and non-binary people, because excluding marginalized groups of people can jeopardize their health and well-being.Β All people need and deserve access to safe abortions.

Bodily autonomy is a human right, and for many folks, Planned Parenthood's services are fundamental to exercising that right. No one should be forced to have a child when it threatens their life, when they're not ready, and especially when they don't ever want to -- particularly in a country that doesn't provide universal health care.

I support Planned Parenthood because they provide essential and accessible reproductive health care. As a teen and young adult, I was able to access not only birth control, but basic OB-GYN services with the help of my local Planned Parenthood health center. I'm forever grateful to have received their care, and I will continue to fight for reproductive rights for all people.
