Shades Hand Lettered Illustration

This piece was inspired by a dubstep group called Shades, who’s visuals are very dark and made up of cult-like environments with twisted Roman sculptures. I wanted to create something that could almost feel like a relief sculpture carved out of a surface, and encapsulate the dark vibe of their music. The Markings around the candles are called Sigils which represent demons, and have a large presence in Shades’ brand, and the statue is an etching illustration of a piece found in their visuals.
