I’ve been playing around quite a bit with simple shapes and overlapping colours since posting my Typophile shots. These hearts are part of the same “buttons for charity” event that Tyler mentions in his shot.
@Amanda Thanks. Some combinations are certainly more successful than others. I was just mucking about unconsciously … really trying to avoid overthinking the various groups of colour.
Thanks Ronny-André. Sometimes when you start playing with the simplest forms and basic colour combinations, it can head off in directions you never expected. I never would have come up with these combinations without layering the shapes and goofing with the transparency.
@Mathew I don’t see why not. Just add another positive comment … or three.
@Sean That’s one of the reasons I’ve aborted a redesign of my personal site, oh … probably ten times in the past ten years. I’ve always become trapped in the process of overthinking what the design should ultimately be in the end, rather than just throwing together something to see if it sticks.

Wow, these are awesome! The shapes are pretty basic, and I've seen them before, but it's the color choices that make these beautiful! :)

Great work Grant! It is really exciting to see what we can create when we don't try to over-think it!

She's my #1 draft pick for all things, of course. I also adore these colourhearts.
