I think the stitching is a little too bright/too yellow. I think it would also look more like it was actually stitching if the drop shadow was at -90º instead, with a very faint white 1px highlight at 1px distance, 90º.
You could probably get away with making the ribbon texture a bit more prominent too. It's barely noticeable on my Mac's monitor so I worry a texture that faint will be lost altogether in the high-density retina display.
It looks really nice as it is though. Nice work. :)
The shadow follows the universal light, so it fits. As for the color, it's far less saturated on the iPhone's screen. :) I'll play with the ribbon texture
Mm, I know that, it's just that stitching tends to be really tight to the material and thus creates a shadow above it, then a highlight below it where the material rises back up.
Both ways work fine, it's just your method makes it look like the stitching is a little loose imo.
Oh and the saturation thing makes sense seeing as it's only 1px wide. I remember experiencing something similar now I think about it.
