    I've attached the fullsize PNG and the layered .psd for you to play around and learn.

    Hi Oliver, I like the glow from the inside. Slick. I think, that you can make the gradient better by using some metal texture underneath it (or simply noise), to make it less plastic.

    @Pavel You're absolutely right. But as far as I can guess from the shot (http://d.pr/nPD0) of the original icon, I think apple will not add noise to the gradient. If the will (we'll see tomorrow …) I will change that and rebound the new version … :D

    I disagree with some of the comments on your icon Oliver - I personally love it.
    If I were to make changes, it would only be to change the apacity of the gradient down a bit - maybe down to 60% and add a white to transparent radial gradient from the centre.. Thanks for the .PSD, I might just try it!
