A late night project. Something I have personally wanted for years :)
what's the app's purpose gonna be Drew?
Looks really nice, but what's the app do?
It will enable you to take photos of your surf spot.
Others can view those photos... it will enable people to check the surf using photos, which is better than the text description you get from surf forecasts :)
If you don't surf.. you can just look at pretty pictures of waves :)
but, it's for surfers.
@Drew ohh That does sound pretty useful for you surfers!! :D
Beautiful, as always. Love how everything you produce is so, so crisp.
In terms of the app, I guess it's a chicken & egg scenario. As in, it'll only prove useful if mass adopted.
Good luck though - I'll follow with interest.
Sounds like a brilliant idea, I don't surf, but once this is released, I'll certainly send a tweet or two out! :D
This is the most beautiful app I've ever seen designed! This is so awesome that I'm going to make a bucket called the 'Hall of Fame'!
In summary: Nice work, Drew Wilson!
Awesome. I think I've seen the shots on surfed.it before, is the app in collaboration?
Beautiful. Good shots too :)
@Dylan , yep hoping so :)
That's awesomely simple, in concept and design!
Now I am wishing I still had time to surf. :(
Brilliant, simply brilliant.
The app is now in development!! Yay!!
Partnering up with Chris Webb ( http://conspirator.co ) on dev :)
nice idea for an app - as a surfer I can see its use but you should let users know that not everyone wants their surf breaks publicized - you can avoid this by not putting landmarks in your photos - also not hooking in location based tagging.
...or limit it to well known breaks.
just my $.02
@Chris , ya there is no exact location data exposed :) also users are encouraged NOT to give directions to the surf spot already on surfed.it :)
nice Drew - good to hear.
