I haven't made one of these for a while, had real fun making it. This is for an upcoming app that uploads content (video and photos) to Facebook.

Thanks to everyone that helped on Twitter, appreciate it. Likes, feedback and all the rest of it is welcome :D

While the concept is clear and this is executed well from a visual standpoint, it's too busy for an icon--especially at the size it will appear on an iOS home screen. One thing you might consider is dimming the content types behind the upload arrow to bring it to the foreground more and, in the process, reduce the visual noise currently present.

It's definitely difficult to represent multiple content types and an action performed on them at this size.

I really love that middle section, looks so pushable. :)

It might be a little bit too busy for an icon but in this particular execution I quite like it the way it is.
If you do end up changing it though, you could try splitting the icon into quarters and have the photos, videos etc. in each segment (like the Game Center icon) but keeping the green circle in the center.

Whilst I do see where Taylor is coming from, but I think it's fine. I would remove that Foursquare logo thing in the background though and the inner highlights of the film cells. The subtle transparency is a nice little touch.

I actually think the business works because you keep it in the background, behind the upload arrow. If that arrow didn't exist, it'd be busy as hell. But because it does, it draws the attention. So I like :D
