Working on the iPhone optimized version of the site, complete with quick access to the next event for directions and info. Fun project when you need to take existing content and envision it in an entirely new format but can only tweak it with CSS. This will probably need a little javascript to write 'Next Event' but other than that should be complete CSS.
*Need to get a less blurry Minnesota logo from 'em.
Really really like this, dude. I'd consider putting the "Next Event" heading below the AIGA logo. Right now, it feels a bit staggered, and I feel like my eye is going in all directions at once.
I agree with Joey the "Next Event" doesn't seem to fit. What about going the other way, making the text a bit smaller and pushing it up closer to the top border, with the baseline aligned with the bottom of the black box?

I agree. Trying to play with things while still leaving the flexibility for a three line title (it will happen, I just know it will).

Love the torn-off paper edge.

Sized the branding down a bit more to fix the 'next event' type layout oddities while preserving enough room for a 3 line title if needed.
Some form of internal navigation will take place in the blue bar I'm thinking... slogan otherwise.
Might absolutely position the event text to line up with the bottom edge of the graphic and grow upwards when there are more lines of text...
