I'm setting up a basic file dropbox application for users to share files via email. (Mostly intended for large attachments that are not allowed over our email servers.) Wanted to make the site a little more fun while keeping it simple.
The fonts are Chunk/Rockwell (they complement each other decently enough in small portions) and League Gothic. Box icons were a purchase from iStockPhoto. Used these awesome grunge brushes.
I doubt it. The term dropbox existed well before the popular software. It's what we would have titled the service whether or not Dropbox existed because it fits the purpose of the application. (I should have mentioned that it is also not a direct competitor since we have a closed audience - specifically members of our university community.)
We're building a basic system for people at the university to mail large files (or large batches of files) and store them temporarily on the web. Here's the submission form. The file icons are a fantastic set found on Brand Spanking New.
Changed the name to FileDrop instead of DropBox just to be safe. (This app is intended solely for our university members and would not be competing directly with the awesome app. Their legal team never responded to requests to talk about using the name.)
Tried to keep the user interface to a bare minimum (flashbacks to Jeff Veen's slides at SXSW years ago with Need Hay/Have Hay) and give users the bare minimum of choices. Navigation images are 1.0 opacity when hovered, and 0.7 opacity in all other states.

Wouldn't this be a copyright issue with Dropbox?
