Denied Permissions
As I tweeted earlier, I had discovered metapho.co which reminded me of an app I was designing a few months ago, with the intention of hacking it together. A Camera Roll.
A nice and simple one, without all the crap added into the default app over the years and to fix the mess iOS 7 had created, that iOS 8 thankfully fixed.
But here's something you don't often see on Dribbble. Edges cases and error views. Take this scenario; User launches an app, and they need to confirm access to the Camera Roll to use it. They deny.
Because they've denied access to the Camera Roll, the app is essentially 'bricked'. There's no app for them to use as the one permission it's relied on has been declined.
If you show them a blank view, you've failed. So you've got to design for this case.
Here, I thought it'd be good to show them the steps needed in order to allow access – as they're pretty hidden. As well a link to address any concerns as to why they may have denied access.
('Photos+' was a crappy placeholder name. The app icon you can see here is a sunflower (from the original Photos icon) done in the 'new' Photos icon style, but looks more like the BP logo...)
