i actually scanned cardboard - ha. we had cardboard custom cd sleeves made for the band out of two different cover stocks (for different albums). brought the scans into photoshop and added drop shadow, some other lighting effects, and the "new" tag.
the band hand stamps each album with a custom stamp, which you can see the edges of at the bottom of the image.
