Now a day’s people are relying more on smartphones rather than Television/Radio/News Papers, even in villages for news and updates.

Many times, even on a broadband connection, networks do let us down. This becomes even harder when thinking/designing of apps for regions that have even slower internet.

In India ~50% of network traffic is 2G (ether direct or degraded speed) and some of the Tier II and III cities have only 2G coverage.
