It isn't to much "soft"? I mean, general idea for metal is "brushed, edgy, hard", this remind me more of a yougurt/pillow...
anyway the lettering itself it's good, I like it!

This is cool, but I dig your other mark way better. The thing that is standing out is that the word mark is so fluid and you are talking about machined metal trucks. Maybe try squaring off the script and giving it some sharp edges.

Love the ligatures. What if the main curve running through the v, t, and e, started from the first part of the v? It's working now, might change it too much or just enough. The r and e linkage need work. They are working more like an italic than a script right now.
