Sangue na Guelra Symposium 2019

The key idea for Sangue na Guelra's 2019 Symposium was The Power of Food, and its tag line was #Revolution.

Food is a powerful asset and its chains have a huge influence on worlds economy, climate and society. To promote a change at all levels of the food systems for good was the motto for 2019, food is powerful, but it needs a revolution to achieve all its potential.

Visually, I was inspired by the struggle for racial equality in the 60's in the United States. I started with Gill Scott-Heron's song The Revolution Will Not Be Televised, an appeal for the people to go to streets, to stand for something. And then I found a famous hand sign of a 60's demonstration with the phrase "A revolution is not a spectacle, there are no spectators. Everyone participates, whether they know it or not". I decided then to bring both concepts together and find a way of showing that powerful revolutionary phrase has if it was being broadcasted on tv. From there, we brainstormed on keywords and phrases that would match the mood and several mini videoclips were made for Instagram and Facebook, some of which you can see here.

Again, the whole campaign was solely made on social networks (Facebook and Instagram) for a week and we sold out. I participated on the whole concept/idea for the event and did all graphics, print and digital.
