After the fall of the Empire, the Republic rose again, but the general feeling was that the ancient symbol did not represent them as it once did.
With the arrival of a new era, which brings hope of better days for the galaxy, free again from conflicts and from the onslaughts of the Empire, the need for a new symbol that represents new beginnings also arises.
