Rauw Alejandro: Afrodisíaco

Afrodisíaco is Rauw Alejandro's debut and therefore his most ambitious project to date.

Based on the image of the artist, the way he is shown to the public and the title of the album, I used the cover to turn Rauw into an "all powerful" figure.

Omnipotence (literally "all power") posits a power of absolute supremacy. Not only can transcend physical or probability laws, it can also transcend logical truths. I show Rauw as he has reached the maximum potential of his species, and he is as powerful as his species can be, showed as it is actually an example of divine omniscience regarding the laws of nature and his ability to make use of it. When shown like this, the title of the album is used conceptually, it is revered by the masses for being a stimulus of passion, of lust, desired.

A visual representation of Rauw's music and the first image the listeners will see when they pick up the album. It artistically represent the style and tone as a musician.

Is subjective, but some common qualities make it a great looking cover. The font, colors, and imagery all match the music and brand identity. The artwork versatile designs that are pleasing to the eye and easy to see.

The Diference:

  • The art remains a vital space to grab attention, contextualize a song, or tell the story of a whole album.

  • It’s the image that leads the right people to your music and turns passive listening into active listening. That means turning casual listeners into super-fans.

  • Streaming didn’t destroy the need for album art. It made it more important.

  • Album art isn’t just the picture on the front of your record any more. It’s part of your online brand.

  • It’s the companion that stays with your music everywhere it goes… And the image that still creates a world.
