Success Isn't Final. Failure Isn't Fatal.

Success Isn't Final. Failure Isn't Fatal.

When I first started out as a designer, I used to think one really good opportunity or project could change everything. Every now and then a really cool project would arise and I'd think -- this could be the one. Some kind of break through or level up is surely going to happen after this. Well.. not really. I have yet to experience an overnight success. And on the flip side, I have yet to experience an overnight failure either. I'm not saying these things don't exist, but I think they're exceptionally rare.

I've come to stop using the word success and replaced it with progress. And progress is like a mine. It's a wall I keep chipping away at. I don't know where it goes or what I'll find, but I'm getting somewhere. I suppose the point is whether you find success or failure, none of it is permanent anyway and you'll be back chipping away at that wall.
