Date picker design for an upcoming web app. The picker arrow points to a 16px calendar icon with the same colors and basic layout so it's sort of like you're zooming in on the icon when you expand the date picker.
This is really great Matthew, good work. My only thought is that perhaps the target area for the next and previous month should maybe be a little bigger? I know personally, I often use date pickers to go several months ahead, so that's the first thing I look for. But other than that, excellent!
I was JUST working on something quite similar - built in markup with greyscale styling for now; I'll give the UI some polish once the functionality is ironed out a bit more. Huzzah!

Best datepicker ever. The faux "zoom in" interaction seems to be really nice. And that type is awesome, may I ask what it is?
