is it too much to ask you how this is done, or what tuts i can read to get this too?

These mountains were completely made in cinema 4d.
At first I created a landscape object and changed the attributes until it looks similar like a mountain range.
To get this polygony effect you just have to play around with the phong-tag or even delete it.
