Project Management Application

Managing simple and complex project and effective communication is the key to Success of any Project Management Professional. Customizable, Lovable and Effective Application will ensure smoother execution of the projects within the company.

This is my UI design to address the Project Management need of a company which facilitate the effective project management principles within the company

Problem statement

"Kasun is a designer in a tech startup. He is working in a team of ~30 people. Workplace communication has become quite boring and superfluous especially due to remote working. Kasun thinks people often need to write long Slack messages or sit through hours of long presentations to get their ideas across. He has approached you to design a new platform to help people easily share and collaborate on ideas."

Solution

I focused not only on Kasun as the big picture here but on the entire startup company. Because Kasun works in a startup company and according to the details, he works in a small team so there may be some issues in resource management. Working as a team in the office can minimize such problems but working from home can be boring. I find that the main problem here is that employees like Kasun are under undue pressure due to improper management of resources. It will be easier for Kasun to minimize these problems if he gets the data related to his duties only through proper management. I offer a solution that fits the information you provided and the problem I identified above. I designed 3 screens for a concept application that can manage the projects that Kasun's company receives.

Here I will describe the screen which is especially important for Kasun. That 'Feed Screen'. I have added a new feature to that screen. At the top are the projects assigned to Kasun.

What makes it special is that the segment operates as a social media platform. For example, suppose you are a Business Analyst at that company and its project manager has assigned you to the project shown here. So, you can use this segment to send a document or image to the relevant team. If you send something like that here, it will be shown to others as a post. Think, I am Kasun. Then I can respond to your post in real time. Not only me but the rest of the team can too.

This makes communication interesting. Kasun minimizes attending meetings unnecessarily. The feed screen allows you to get real-time ideas from other members of the team. No need to write or read unnecessarily long messages and you can use this application to manage projects properly and reduce their unnecessary stress.
