    Hello, I'm new here!

So, debut shot, nothing extraordinary - just playing around with lighting and edging details on this menu here to get that super crisp but textured look. It's what I'm working on at the moment.

    Welcome Jack!
I think this navigation bar looks pretty cool.
The use of light and shades, and the use of texture are worked very cleverly

Welcome. I'd try to make the search input just a little more visible. Maybe a subtle 1px white overlay outline? Or a brighter input background color? Just to make it pop a little. I'd probably not notice the input right away on a full website.

I agree about the search input being a little hard to see - I'll add a little edging light to it to make it stand out. Thanks for the feedback!

If it's what you're looking for then I guess that's great, but idk, it feels a little overdone to me.

Very overdone I know - I'm just a bit late to the party and playing catchup with the design community! These are part of a freebie PSD I'm going to pop on my site once it's up.

This is what apple website would look like if it was a Hollywood production studio. Nice to meet you too Jack. Welcome to dribble.

Has a great glossy-backlit feel to it. Some say overdone, I say just right. Minimalism is good and great, but not everyting that's a bit more crowded or filled with effects / eyecandy is out of place. That being said, even as over-glossy as it is, it still very well blends with the dark background and the faux-transparency is just ace. Good to have you here Jack!
