Daily UX Writing Challenge - 8

The character limitation made this a bit challenging for me because the copywriter in me was itching to come alive– to play the numbers game in the headline, and introduce the scarcity factor on the number of available tickets.  However, since users are dismissive of pop-ups I figured a better way to catch the user’s attention is by mentioning their favorite band name in the headline. The body text and CTA are aimed at making the user feel a sense of FOMO if they do not purchase the ticket.

Background

I recently took up the UXWC #UXWriting Challenge to improve my skill sets. In this solo project, a prompt was sent to email daily for 15 days. My approach on arriving at solutions stems from my experience as a user of similar applications, and inspiration from mobile applications which are doing a terrific job at microcopy.

I particularly found the character limitation interesting as it stretched my ability to write concise copy. While I primarily identify as a UX Writer with backgrounds in copywriting and social media marketing, this challenge also gave me an opportunity to put my budding design skills into practice.
