Mockup: My Name Is Shingo
Fanfiction is something I've never really dabbled in, despite being a fan of so much stuff. I prefer to write and come up with my own stories as it feels more rewarding. But from time to time, I do think up possible fan stories. This is one of them.
My Name Is Shingo: A King of Fighters Story.
MNIS tells the tale of Shingo Yabuki, a high school aged average joe who just so happens to be friends with Mr. Popular himself, Kyo Kusanagi.
After watching Kyo's performance during the last tournament, something awoken in Shingo. Seeing Kyo's confidence and swagger in and out of the ring, Shingo wants to make a name for himself. And he knows just how to do it.
Begging Kyo to teach him the ways of the Kusanagi Flame, Shingo trains for the next King of Fighters, unaware that those not in the Kusanagi bloodline can't control flames. All the while Kyo prepares for another fight against the forces of Orochi, forcing him to join forces with his rival Iori.
Will Shingo make it to the top in a special singles entrance side tourney, or will the world crumble to dust by the resurrected Orochi?

In essence, it's a mix between the established canon of the games and some artistic liberty. For example, it's established that KOF rules call for teams of 3. There's a singles mode in most games, but you don't hear anything about it being a special side tourney or something.
Honestly, I think this could work well for a show or manga. It'd be a nice bit of SNK fanservice if all else. Oh well.
Anyways that's a lot of build up to say have a logo! It's not like I'm going to actually write any of this gaff, lol.
