Here's the in-prog "new project" screen. Our "picker" (to set the due date, here) expands from the point of touch, rather than the bottom. Idea being, you activate it, choose a date, and close it (by tapping the SAME area) without having to shift thumb position... Thumb-friendliness being one of our key design pillars throughout the app.

It looks like the perfect todo-app for me. I can't stand the complicated ones were you have to spend 5 minutes just to create a task like Things, Todo and them... I use SimpleTODO on my Mac. A bit similar. So yepp, two thumbs up so far!
