Well, that took longer than I expected.

Meaning, I had the idea, played around for what seemed like maybe an hour, but turned out to be more like 3 :)
This is my first experiment really trying to illustrate anything, and I was making it up the technique as I went along. Pretty happy with the result, considering my lack of experience in this department.

@Thomas: probably not, though "need" in the case of a rebound is highly subjective :) my original rough sketch didn't have one, then I toyed with adding a bird on a wire, and finally decided the roof would be a decent substitute for a horizon.
Also, I've never done any illustration like this before, so it was a good excuse to see how well I could draw the house ;)

The house and the balloons is, of course, very much Up. In which case, it almost seems like the house *should* be there. Birds on a wire would have also qualified as a Pixar reference. :)

Love the simplicity of keeping the shape as the original; I think yours was the only one that didn't expand on it...aside from changing the color.
