Played around with this one a bit more & think I managed to work out some of the kinks...

Sounds like the client is gravitating more towards a version of the 'strikethrough' concept...but I figured I'd go ahead and post another version of this one, seeing as how I still like the thinking behind it ;)

"Never" is such a strange word to design around. One wrong move and you reverse the meaning.

    You pulled this off nicely!

Yeah, I'd have to agree with Andy. I think you've pulled the best visual metaphor out of this one. Excellent work as always.

I'm really not trying to be juvenile here, but I'm worried it may be a little phallic? =\

I think my only issue with it is that I'm still not reading the N very well. When I first saw it I kept thinking "everbland." I know it's a bit of a nitpick, but maybe try reducing the size of the circle so you can get a narrower N form. I think it being so wide is what throws me off. Also might help address Sean's comment as well as it could make the circle the same height as the rest of the letterforms.

I really dig the concept though, loving the texture as well. Nice work!

I agree with Chip, really nice however the "everbland" sticks out a bit on first viewing.
