I've just been experimenting with different ways to subtly show an area chart in the background of a dashboard module. I'm not sure if it makes things too busy or if the colors are confusing.

One thing to consider is using tabular figures, so that the "1" doesn't break your grid. The good news is that Gotham has them,

and perhaps by the time your project's done, we'll have it available as a webfont. :)
