Not sure what the left side of the form looks like, but I find the best way to do URL inputs is to prefix the input with "http://", like so: http:// [input] Gives a more direct instruction. And on the backend, you can handle dumb users by stripping http(s):// from the front of the URL if they happen to enter that in.
