Altered State Machine

Hey! What’s up?

Today I want to share my 3D works that I’ve created for https://www.alteredstatemachine.xyz/.

Here is the How ASM Works screen that I want to cover today. As I sat there drawing a galaxy, I noticed how meditating and mesmerizing it felt. I guess you can feel the same when looking at this image.

To create such beauty, I found a picture of a spiral galaxy as a reference and started drawing. I used particles that helped optimize the process and work with many objects at the same time.

While creating the galaxy, I worked in Cinema 4D and Nuke during post-processing. I applied Matrix and deformers in C4D that helped me spread the particles chaotically and realistically. I added Doff, extra glow, vibrance, and contrast in Nuke to create this top-notch picture you see on the website.

The hardest part was placing particles to see the edges and shape of the galaxy. For this I used the standard Galaxy shader that helped me to solve this issue.

I’m proud to be a part of this project since it got nominated for the Awwwards!
