Overall, I dig, but I think the lockup could use some finessing. The ribbon type can be both tighter and more nuanced (i.e. a thinner weight, scaled taller; the space around the word "social club" can be more balanced). The word "Brighton" is screaming to be set in something more elaborate, a script perhaps, or a classic, condensed serif like so. I'd also suggest nixing the dimension of the ribbon at the bottom. You'll lose that detail when this is reduced, anyhow.
I take it that shape in the circle is a hat? If so, if the word "Brighton" is typeset in such a way that it looks like a mustache, then this would be a basket-breaking slam dunk.
I cleaned up the banner as per Rumsey's suggestion and selected a slab-serif for the word "Brighton." A condensed serif felt a little too formal for the attitude of the club. Also, I refined the hat a little bit.
