Some layout ideas about an admin panel for a private CMS system that is currently work in progress. The idea is to make a sturdy framework for commonly used site features (news, gallery etc), so that it reduces my development time with any future websites and projects.
I think I'm preferring #1, but I think perhaps it's too much pink, whilst #2 has feels a bit empty to the left and right of white content area.
@Thomas Maier - Thank you and I agree, the navigation text is a little off, especially the E and W in 'News.' I will try your recommendation, and post the result.

Nice logo.
The navigation font looks funny..
Why not using the navigation bar from the first one and the content layout rom the second one?

I love the navigation in number 2, maybe try rounding the top left corner?
