As someone who is re-designing their own site at the moment, I can understand that you will never be happy with the first version lol. I've went through a few versions before I got this one I'm happy with now. Which only happened by taking a step back for a few days.
I DO like that a lot though - I prefer that composition much better to your current. I can see enough detail to be able to see where you are going with it. The best thing to do is not to rush anything though - taking that step back will give you space to re-think and approach with some fresh ideas. :-)

eh...not sure if I like this better than the current design at www.amberweinberg.com
you can't see the nav detail, there's arrows and dividers, so look at the rebound for that. I did remove the shadow from the nav as well.
I like the nav & the line numbers, but that's about it so far...not sure where this is going but it's 2:30 am so I'm going to try to sleep.
