Can't decide if gill sans works for this design or not. Trying to decide between this and georgia. Or, you know, something else entirely. Typography is hard.
Agreed that Georgia looks good for the date, and that sans serif looks good for the heading--not necessarily Gill Sans, though, at least not so bold. I suggest trying a lighter weight, or another sans serif--maybe something like Neutraface?

Can you combine both? I’d think Gill Sans in master header (I like the thickness) and Georgia for timestamp and article’s title…

Agree with Peter.
I LOVE the red-blue border.

Personnaly, I would go for Georgia.. It gives the layout a more "kitsh" (in a good way) feeling :)
& maybe combining the two & keep the date text with Gill... // just saying :)

I enjoy the Gill sans for the "Stan's Newsletter" header. (at least, that's my impression from the crop).
Agree with others that Georgia might work for the date.
Not sure about the "A great month" header…

Gill top, Georgia below. High-fives.

Gill Sans have all that 'British' feeling, it's a much better option for an 'air mail' like design than Georgia in my opinion.
