This is a logo for a small development company. It's my first attempt at it. I wanted to avoid the obvious reference to Mars, so no 3d globes ect. Feel free to give feedback.
The "M" in motel doesn't feel motel-y enough to me.
It might just be personal opinion, but when I think of typical American signage, I think of sharp M's. (As in ones that have a sharp middle point.) Like the M's in Gotham or Interstate. I haven't quite decided but I think I also picture the point touching the baseline, so more like Interstate than Gotham.
Also, I'm not sold on the long crossbar on the "T". If that change made the top of Motel a solid block I might not mind, but since there's still a gap on the other side of the "O" it feels awkward.
