Absolutely love it! Symbol, fonts, all great! The only part I'm kinda doubtful is the color split on the symbol, but maybe it's too boring without... I don't know...
Thanks for the comments everyone. @Miro... I'm undecided on that split myself. I added it at the last minute in an attempt to give it a bit more retro character.
My goal with this logo was to create something that looked trustworthy and professional... but not too "big box store" and slick. It's for a one man shop... and I was hoping to convey that a bit. Is any of that coming through?
@Jesse, well, it isn't a big box store but it does have a box. ;)
Beautiful work.
Even though the lower script feels a bit older in fashion, perhaps a different face would help better in the "seems-like-a-painted-sign" direction. Otherwise TOPS!
Excellent! I would visually bump the shape over to the left a few pixels. It looks a little off-center even though it may technically be centered. Or slide the mechanic over so divides the shape exactly down the middle. Just seems to be a touch of visual tension there for me. Fantastic though. I would bring my car there!
Re trustworthy and professional: for sure, it does. But not solely based on the execution (though it rocks indeed). I think the name of the shop (probably out of your control) is trying too hard. It sounds a bit needy ("Look at us, we're not like the other guys, we have integrity!").
But I think what evokes those feelings, is simply that this guy cares enough about his brand to put it in the hands of a designer. That speaks more to me than the name or execution of the logo. This guy cares about details.
Design wise, I might try tracing the script to make each character unique. Good stuff dood!
I dig everything about this except for the brush script, which concerns me a bit. On the one hand, I'm a bit worried about its legibility--but more than that, I'm just not sure I think it fits with the rest of the logo.
I agree that the brush script helps create a whimsical 50's vibe, but in my opinion its introduction is a third visual element (icon + gotham + brush) that doesn't jive with the other two elements. For one, the character in the icon and the word "INTEGRITY" just say, well...integrity. The brush script doesn't.
In fact, I feel like everything that brush script does--50's vibe, unique, "one-man-shop", etc--is already being done, and better, by the icon itself.
The icon is tongue-in-cheek and playful, it says one-man-shop literally, and the shape of the emblem gives off a 50's vibe.
Personally, I'd say lose the brush script. I think the rest is great and accomplishes everything you were going for without it.
I've tweaked the mechanic so that his back isn't so arched (I got some feedback that he looked like he was going to swallow his wrench like a sword) and changed the "car care" back to Gotham.
I'm not sure about the colours at this point... just the first combo I put together.
I actually prefer the script for 'Car Care' to Gotham. The feel from the script seems a little more... approachable. The double stacked gotham just seems too formal. Just my thoughts though...
Personally, I like the grey color scheme much better. Automotive work mainly consists of metal parts like bolts, sheet metal, chassis, suspension, gears, chains, etc. If I looked at the two logos quickly and had to guess the type of work each does, I'd say the grey is for fixing cars and the blue is for fixing baby strollers.

Nice. I like the new brush script font you chose - works really well in lending it that friendly 50's vibe.

That a-r ligature feels a tad too big in relation to the other letters, but this is classy work.

@Joshua - That's actually what I love about this typeface. I think it has that 'raw' feel.

Really nice. Like already mentioned, it has a great vintage yet playful feel. The first thing it reminded me of was a Pip-Boy perk from Fallout :)

I like the gray version a lot better. And you should use the Car Car front from the first version!
