I've made some tweaks to the logo which include adding a bit of shading to add more depth, and aligning more of the shapes so that they don't look as slapped together as they did before. I also added a little shading treatment to the letters.
@matt Thanks! I had a lot of feedback over on Forrst that went both ways with using Museo (looks great vs. overused). I tried a tonne of different fonts, but always came back to this. The little extra treatments with the shadows also helped it hold it's own against the much louder logo-mark to its left without competing with it (at least I hope so).
I love the use of gradients here. I'm generally not a fan of complicating logos with them but in this case it just works. I'd love to hear the rationale behind the use of these shapes, but even without knowing anything about it is like a magnet for my eyes every time I glance at the Dribbble page. Great job!
@Alejandro - thanks for the comment! I actually had used an accent over the first é in Perez in the logo that is one will replace. In my attempts to create a new accent, I came up with one of the geometric shapes. It was inspired by rock-like formations - which is the meaning behind the name Perez. I opted to created a logo-mark rather than just using the shape as an accent and overlapped three of them for more visual interest. I wouldn't have ever imagined I'd go with something like this, but I feel it just works.
I agree, it works very well. I also didn't know that was the meaning behind Perez, I always assumed it came from a Spaniard village or something like that :p Anyway, keep it up, its a beautiful logo!
